I wasn't expecting to love this book as much as I did. Between the sizzle and spice, and the heartwarming storyline of two people rekindling a passion from a past they had damn near forgotten about, I couldn't put it down. Cassie and Aiden encompass a story that I wish could be put to the big screen, every detail included (it helps that I had The Nanny on in the background while reading this book). There are spoilers ahead, so if you haven't read the book, be prepared.

The Plot
I absolutely adored how this story worked together. Told in a dual POV, this book thrives in is contemporary romance. Cassie previously has an OnlyFans account, but has long since deleted it when a connection with a stranger she gets close to disappears. In need for money, Cassie sees a want add for a nanny position and applies.
She meets Aiden, a single dad chef who is smitten with her from day one. But, he is her opposite in every way. She's hired, and within the first day, their chemistry sizzles right off of the pages.
God, the things he had paid to watch me do.
I loved how this book progresses with a frequent account of their interactions and their banter that seems so natural from the get-go. The daughter, is an adorable girl who really grows over time throughout the book which was a pleasant surprise. I expected the focal point to be just the two adults, but it was really nice to see how Sophie comes into her own by the end. The natural connection Aiden and Cassie have had me gripped, ready and eager to get to more. This book offered a really seamless timeline in which nothing seemed rushed, or over-eager. Everything really fell into place in a welcoming and comforting way.
Drama ensued with Aiden's somewhat sister-in-law really had me tense. I was half expecting this woman to kidnap Sophie or try and do something quite diabolical at her entrance. Then, when she came in explosively to try and get Sophie away from her father, I realized I was right. The stress that it put me through had me on edge, but at the same time wondering if it was almost like a reach. However, everything about this storyline actually made sense. There were few points when I felt like I needed further explanation or I didn't agree.
Part of me thinks I should have told her I love her.
Part of me knows it wouldn't have made her stay.
One of the best parts was how understanding Aiden was once he realized the truth of who Cassie was - his blast from the past. Not to mention, his caution when it became clear that Cassie had, too, figured it out and kept it hidden. I thought his reaction was wonderful; most of the time, we see this point when there is a big fight and the couple breaks up dramatically. Not in this case. Aiden was calm, patient, and he understood; he was willing to listen and focused on the reasons why.
It absolutely shattered me when Cassie walked away from Aiden and Sophie. But, you know what made me the happiest? That it was Sophie that really pulled them together. I thought that was such a classic, single parent movie moment! I loved it so much. And, I loved how much Sophie loved Cassie.
This isn't how I wanted to tell him.
I'm telling you guys, this book - caught me by surprise. I was expecting just a fun weekend read. Turns out, I found a new love.
